Sources close to roadtrains.com.au revealed today that Queensland Transport is considering scrapping the reversing test for new truck licences.
“I was truly shocked when the PADA from Queensland Transport rang and asked me how important and how often a truck driver was required to reverse a truck,” our source admitted to roadtrains.com.au.
“The issue Queensland Transport is having at the moment is finding suitable areas to conduct the reversing operation and coupling assessment when conducting licence testing,” our sources continued. “So, they (Queensland Transport) are considering deleting both reversing and coupling operations from their heavy vehicle driver licence testing.
Roadtrains.com.au tried to contact Queensland Transport for clarification on this matter.
