Bendix Modernises the Digital Parts Counter
There was a time when finding brake parts meant walking into the local parts shop, leaning on the counter and explaining your problem to a bloke who somehow knew every pad shape ever fitted to a Falcon ute since 1987.

Today, that same job often involves three browser tabs, a VIN number, two cups of coffee and a growing suspicion the internet is deliberately trying to sell you the wrong brake rotor.
Bendix appears to have noticed.

The company has launched a completely redesigned website aimed at mechanics, workshop managers and vehicle owners, with the primary focus on faster, more accurate parts identification. And frankly, in an era where manufacturers seem determined to change brake specifications every second Tuesday, that is probably overdue.
The new Bendix website introduces a much broader range of search functions designed to remove a fair chunk of the guesswork from brake component selection.
Users can begin by entering vehicle details through make and model selection or registration number search. From there, the system allows filtering by specific Bendix product categories, including brake pads, discs, brake upgrade kits and brake hose kits.
But this is where things become genuinely useful.

Rather than simply throwing a vague list of possibilities at the screen and wishing you luck, the site allows users to narrow down components using detailed technical specifications, including disc thickness, outer diameter, height, length, and disc type. Suspension configurations, such as standard or raised ride height, can also be selected for products like the Ultimate 4WD Brake Upgrade Kits and Brake Hose Kits.
In other words, it is designed to stop the increasingly common situation where a mechanic pulls a wheel off only to discover the “correct” parts supplied are about as compatible as a boat propeller on a road train.
European vehicle owners, meanwhile, will probably appreciate one particularly clever addition.
The site now supports PR number searching for Volkswagen Group vehicles, including VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda. For those unfamiliar with the European habit of overcomplicating perfectly ordinary things, a PR number identifies the exact equipment specification fitted to an individual vehicle.
That matters because European manufacturers love changing brake packages halfway through a model run simply to keep everyone alert.

Performance Variants
Performance variants, upgraded packages and specification changes can all result in different brake hardware fitted to what outwardly appears to be the exact same vehicle. The PR number search function helps eliminate much of that confusion and should save workshops from the all-too-familiar “these don’t fit” conversation.
Once the correct parts are identified, the website provides full component information along with technical drawings and imagery where applicable. Users who already know their part number can search directly, while broader searches can also be performed across passenger vehicles, 4WDs, SUVs, motorcycles and heavy commercial applications.
And yes, heavy commercial operators have not been forgotten.
Which is important because downtime in the transport game is measured in dollars disappearing at an alarming rate.
Beyond parts identification, Bendix has also expanded the amount of technical and support information available online. Product pages now include simplified feature overviews backed by more detailed technical information for workshops wanting deeper specifications.
The site also attempts to steer customers toward suitable products based on application type, road conditions and vehicle use. Which, if nothing else, is considerably more useful than the traditional method of selecting brake pads purely because the box looked impressive.
Additional resources include safety data sheets, brake system guides, FAQs, company news, product updates and an installer locator covering both physical retailers and online distributors.
Visually, the new website moves away from the darker, more dated layout of the previous platform and adopts a cleaner, brighter design with larger imagery, improved navigation and modern animation elements.
Thankfully, Bendix appears to have prioritised usability over turning the entire website into some sort of interpretive art project designed by a marketing department after too much cold brew coffee.

New filter options allow users to narrow searches by fitment, dimensions and suspension setup.
Bendix CEO George Kyriakopoulos said the company’s constantly expanding product range made fast and accurate parts identification increasingly important.
“Our region is one of the most competitive for vehicle OEMs, with just about every brand represented and new entrants regularly coming to market,” George said.
“This means that Bendix is constantly working to expand its parts catalogue, which now covers 3,000 plus items. Given the breadth of products, it’s critical that customers can search for and identify the components they need as efficiently as possible.
“The new website with its greatly expanded search functionality will help customers locate Bendix parts faster and help ensure that these are correct for their vehicle,” he explained.
In the end, the cleverest thing about the new Bendix website might simply be that it recognises a reality many in the automotive industry still ignore.
Modern vehicles are becoming increasingly complicated; workshops are busier than ever; and nobody has time to spend half the afternoon decoding brake specifications as if they were trying to crack military intelligence files.
Sometimes the smartest innovation is simply making things easier.
