Colli Timber and Hardware doubles down on IVECO Daily for on-site delivery work
Nearly two decades after putting its first IVECO Daily to work, Colli Timber and Hardware has added two new Daily 50C vans to its growing IVECO fleet — continuing a relationship built on reliability rather than brochure promises.
Colli Timber and Hardware chose Daily based on the strong performance of earlier IVECO models as well as for their safety features, driver appointments and robust driveline.
Based out of Malaga and Mundijong, the Perth timber and hardware supplier traces its origins back to the late 1960s, when founder Pietro Colli saw an opportunity to supply quality timber products that could keep construction moving. Today, the business is run by Pietro’s sons, Ces and Oriano, supported by a team of around 50 staff — with the third generation already well embedded.
Major Account Representative Jason Colli joined the family business in 2000 and has been there for much of the company’s long association with IVECO. Over the years, Colli Timber and Hardware has operated six Daily vans, alongside a Eurocargo and three Stralis trucks delivering timber, cladding, trusses and hardware across the Perth region.

Reliable and Consistent
“We started running IVECOs back in 2006,” Jason said.
“They’ve been good, honest trucks for us — reliable and consistent. When it came time to replace two older Dailys, there really wasn’t a reason to look elsewhere.”
The latest additions are two 12m³ Daily 50C vans, purchased through AV Truck Services and finished in the company’s distinctive blood-orange livery. They’re a key part of Colli Timber and Hardware’s Colli Xpress Onsite service — a mobile, job-site-focused operation designed to keep tradies working rather than leaving site to chase materials.
Each van carries fast-moving hardware, consumables, replacement tools and trade essentials, laid out with shelving, racking and hooked display boards. EFTPOS onboard allows quick transactions, while tandem box trailers can be added when extra carrying capacity is needed.
With 180 hp, 430 Nm of torque and a 3,500 kg braked towing capacity, the Daily 50C provides the muscle needed for this kind of work.
“The Dailys give us the space and payload to properly support our customers on site,” Jason said.
“We’ve also gone with the eight-speed full automatic transmissions — they’re easier to live with in traffic and make the vans more comfortable for our sales team to drive day in, day out.”
The vans’ loadspace is equipped with shelving, racking and hooked display boards, for orderly display and transfer of equipment and materials to job sites.
Features
Operating out of Malaga, the vans regularly travel up to 1.5 hours north or south, covering hundreds of kilometres per day across metropolitan, urban and regional roads. With that kind of seat time, driver comfort and safety were high on the priority list.
“Features like lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control have been well received,” Jason said.
“City Mode has also been a standout — especially when maneuvering or towing trailers. It really takes the effort out of low-speed steering.”
Having run Daily vans continuously since 2006, Jason says the improvements over time are obvious.
“They’re quieter, smoother and more refined with every generation. You notice it straight away.”
Looking ahead, Colli Timber and Hardware sees no reason to change a formula that works.
“They’re dependable machines that do exactly what we need them to do,” Jason said.
“They look good on the road, they represent our business well, and they get a lot of positive feedback. That’s why we’ve stayed with IVECO for so long — and why we’ll continue to.”
The two new vans are used in the company’s ‘Colli Xpress Onsite’ service, delivering materials and equipment to work sites around greater Perth and beyond.
