Visy Powers Ahead with 30 New Mercedes-Benz Actros in National Fleet Upgrade
Visy Logistics has taken a major step in modernising its Australian truck fleet, rolling out 30 brand new Mercedes-Benz Actros prime movers. The move marks the first stage of a significant renewal program that could see as many as 90 new trucks joining its operations across the country.

A Strategic Partnership with Daimler Truck
As a global logistics operator, Visy Logistics is recognised for delivering sustainable and digitally enabled supply chain solutions. With more than 60 sites nationwide, the company’s services span warehousing and distribution, intermodal container transport, linehaul, bulk haulage, and global forwarding.
To support this growing footprint, Visy turned to Daimler Truck Australia Pacific for the next generation of fleet equipment. According to Wayne Boxshall, Country Manager for Visy Logistics Australia, safety, sustainability, and driver comfort were the deciding factors.

The Actros line-up is already well regarded in Australian linehaul and distribution work, and Daimler believes it is ideally suited to Visy’s diverse operations.

Advanced Safety Systems
The new Actros fleet comes equipped with Active Brake Assist, an advanced emergency braking system capable of full automatic braking in response to moving or stationary vehicles – and even pedestrians.
Drivers also benefit from Predictive Powertrain Control, which uses GPS and topographic mapping to anticipate gradients and adjust shift patterns for maximum fuel efficiency. The system can even safely coast in neutral when conditions allow, further improving consumption.
Proven Euro 6 Leadership
All 13-litre and 16-litre Actros engines supplied to Visy feature Euro 6 emission technology, a standard Mercedes-Benz introduced to the Australian market back in 2016 – years ahead of many competitors.
Euro 6 compliance demands a 70% reduction in hydrocarbons, up to 80% less NOx, and as much as 66% fewer particulates, compared to previous standards. For Daimler Truck, this is not new ground. Its Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, and Fuso brands have already logged a combined 3 billion customer kilometres with Euro 6-equivalent drivetrains on Australian roads.

The first 30 trucks are already hard at work across the Visy Logistics network, and with plans for another 60 units, the fleet refresh is only just beginning.
