Fuso’s factory-built tipper Canter 815 model gets a two-way tailgate upgrade for 2022. Furthermore, the carrying capacity increased from 2.4 cubic meters to 2.6 cubic meters.
Both the Canter 615 City Cab and 815 Wide Cab tippers can be driven on a car licence and boast the best payload in their respective classes. The 615 tipper has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 6000kg, and the 815 tipper has a GVM of 7500kg. However, both models can be classified with a 4500kg rating if they are to be driven by car licence holders.
The headline change for the Canter 815 tipper upgrade is a new factory two-way tailgate that replaces the fixed top-hinged tipper rear tailgate section. Folding the rear tailgate totally out of the way will bring significant advantages in specific applications where more oversized items require unloading.
Customers can be assured of Fuso quality thanks to this feature coming straight from the factory.
The tipper trays for both the 615 and 815 Canter tippers feature fold-down sides for extra convenience.
Other upgrades for the 815 Canter tipper include a hydraulic body lock for additional safety and stability when loading and unloading machinery, grab handles and steps, rope rails and additional tray capacity.
The 615 and 815 Canter tippers come standard with a Limited Slip Differential, perfect for work on slippery and potentially uneven building sites and grippy lug tyres. They also feature the best-in-class turning circle and a full suite of safety technology, including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and hill-hold brake feature.
The Fuso AEBS system uses superior radar technology to enable automatic emergency braking in the event of a potential collision and can even begin braking for pedestrians.
Fuso Truck and Bus Australia Director, Alex Müller, says the latest revisions further increase the appeal of the Canter 815 tipper.
“We are happy to respond to Australian demand for a two-way tailgate for the Canter 815 and believe this addition will make it easier for our customers to get the job done,” he says. “Our Canter tipper models already have the best in class payload, turning circle, and advanced active safety systems, but these upgrades make the 815 an even more attractive proposition,” Mr Müller says. “The fact that these models can be specified as car-licence models if required means they have a far-reaching appeal,” he concludes.
The 615 and 815 Canter tipper models feature class-leading 30,000km service intervals and a manufacturer’s warranty covering the vehicle for five years or 200,000km, whichever comes first.
