Up Front with King Bars

One of Australia’s premier bullbar manufacturers, King Bars, has strengthened its brand with a new product range and has teamed up with renowned truck aftermarket customisation specialist, the A & I Autogroup, to push into the New South Wales market.

King Bars Managing Director Martin Nye said the company has made the most of the slowdown in the market to complete the “most comprehensive research and development program it has ever undertaken".

He said Queensland based King Bars has seen a decline in its traditional markets including the mining and livestock industries and made the decision at the end of last year to develop a product range that would suit the NSW market.

“We have taken onboard that we need to spread our market base and Sydney represented an obvious opportunity for us,” he said.

“It’s a completely different market and we recognised the need to develop a bumper and bar that suited this market.

“The styling of the bumper range is quite different to anything else we’ve offered and we are pleased we were able to develop an attractive, strong bumper,” he said.

Martin added the bar range has also been increased to include a highway bar suited to the B-double market.

“Apart from making sure we had the right product offerings to suit the NSW market, we also needed a local agent,” he said.

“We historically have had minimal sales directly into NSW and we undertook the conscious decision to find someone that could support us there, because local support is always critical.

“It doesn’t matter where people are, they want someone local that is going to fit, repair and stand by your product and for all those reasons we needed to find someone with a similar customer focus to us.
“King Bars was directed to A&I Autogroup as a supplier with a very strong reputation and well known within the NSW industry,” he said.

A&I are now the only formal agency for King Bars in the country and offer a one-stop-shop with everything to customise a truck.

“With our factory located in Wetherill Park we are easy for truck drivers to access, ensuring that all their customisation requirements can be accommodated for to the highest standards and we really are your one-stop-shop,” said Andrew Heathcote from the A & I Autogroup.

“If the customers want something after they’ve ordered the bar, and it’s here, we can actually modify it afterwards as well,” he said.

Martin added that through the new product range and the new association with the A & I Autogroup, King Bars are now well positioned to support the NSW market.
